Boasting individual Japanese-style houses and maisonettes with a private open-air hot spring bath, Ryokan Kono-Yu is nestled in lush greenery in the peaceful Kurokawa hot spring area. Free Wi-Fi is provided in the lobby, and spacious public baths are available. Modern Kumamoto cuisine prepared with local ingredients is offered. Featuring tatami (woven-straw) flooring and a historic Japanese charm, each room comes with a comfortable seating area, a low table and an en suite bathroom. Facilities like flat-screen TV and fridge are provided. Guests can unwind in the room wearing yukata robes after soaking in the private outdoor bath. Kono-Yu Ryokan provides a foot-bath and several large public baths, one of which can be reserved for private use. Souvenir items can be purchased at the on-site gift shop, and drink vending machines are available. The property is a 40-minute drive from JR Aso Station, and a 20-minute drive from Mangan-ji Temple. Meoto Waterfall is a 5-minute drive away. Noasobi and Roku dining rooms serve Japanese dinner featuring local specialities and select ingredients. Traditional Japanese breakfast with multiple dishes is also offered.
