Dating from 1879, this traditional, family-run hotel offers cosy accommodation and excellent food in the UNESCO-listed, picturesque village of Filsen, just 100 metres from the River Rhine. The bedrooms of the Altes Tor hotel are tastefully equipped, and some rooms include a balcony or loggia. Bathrooms are en-suite with a shower and WC. Between Tuesday and Sunday, you can enjoy a wide range of delights in the hotel restaurant, which includes excellent sausages and other meat dishes supplied by the in-house butcher’s. A self-service beer garden is available in the summer. The Altes Tor is situated at the beginning of the Rheinsteig hiking trail, beside the largest bend of the River Rhine. Maps for hikers and motorcyclists are available from reception. A ferry runs to Boppard on the opposite bank. Lahnstein and Loreley are just 15 km away.
