The Schooner Hotel is a Listed 17th-century coaching-inn in the picturesque coastal village of Alnmouth, Northumberland. Nestling next to a sandy beach with Alnwick town centre and it's castle close by. The hotel is easily accessible from the A1 and just 1-mile from Alnmouth’s East Coast Railway Station. Newcastle and the Metro Centre are 40 minutes’ drive away. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful countryside, perfect for walking, and there are several golf courses in the area. The Schooner has 2 cosy bars, dining facilities and an Indian restaurant. The en suite rooms have free Wi-Fi, TVs and tea/coffee making facilities. The Schooner is rumoured to be haunted and has regular paranormal investigation evenings for guests. The Schooner has a rich history, with famous figures such as Charles Dickens, John Wesley, Basil Rathbone and King George III all said to have stayed there.
