The Island River Lodge

Located on a private 8-hectare island in the middle of the Blyde River, The Island Hoedspruit offers accommodation within 16 km of Hoedspruit. Accessible via a causeway across the river, this property is surrounded by indigenous vegetation and bird life. The Island Hoedspruit has a private lodge, as well as permanent tented accommodation. The 2-bedroom lodge boasts a 450 metre Rhodesian teak terrace overlooking the river, a private pool and a large outdoor entertainment area. The spacious tented units have both a private BBQ area and access to a communal boma area, with a fully-equipped shared kitchen, indoor and outdoor dining areas and a fire pit. The Island is home to a variety of wildlife and flora, including a number of rare birds, and 200-300 year old trees canopy much of the island. The Orpen Gate to the Kruger National Park is within a 1-hour drive of The Island, while the start of the Panorama Route is a 5-minute drive away, and includes the Blyde River Canyon, Bourke's Luck and God's Window.
