Situated 100 metres from the beach along Durban's Golden Mile, The Edward overlooks the Indian Ocean. Decorated in an Art Deco style, the hotel features features a panoramic roof-top pool, ideal for sunbathing and sundown cocktails. Guests will add their name to the long list of princes and presidents, millionaires and celebrities that stayed overnight since The Edward opened its doors in 1911. Half of the recently refurbished rooms offer uninterrupted ocean views. They are all decorated in a classic style with wooden features and rich fabrics, but also include satellite flat-screen TVs and an intimate reading area. Facilities of the hotel also include a gym and room service. Guests can enjoy walking or cycling on the promenade adjacent to the hotel.
