It has a lovely authentic personal atmosphere with artists living there on the 3rd floor, and one more holiday apartment on the 2nd floor. We have tried to keep close to the original style of the house yet we are slowly building up modern comforts. Modest small wooden house with 3 separate flats, and mine is the ground floor. It´s good to know that these old wooden houses carry sound, so if you are very sensitive to every day noise from kids and family upstairs, or other tourists in the flat upstairs you have to think about it. Many people live like this in Reykjavík downtown, during recent reconstruction in 2021, I tried to sound proof ceiling as much as it was possible with special material, noises are now noticeably muffled down, but it is not possible to eliminate them to zero.
