Travelers will enjoy an array of hiking, cycling, and cross-country skiing trails. The nearby Skyline Trail offers one of Jasper National Park's most scenic hikes. This is a wilderness hostel with limited creature comforts - no running water, no showers or washing area, and no flush toilets. We do have purified water for cooking, a refrigerator, propane stoves and electricity for the lights.

HI-Athabasca Falls is situated in Jasper, within 33 km of Jasper SkyTram and 34 km of Marmot Basin Ski Area. The hostel has family rooms. At the hostel, rooms have a patio. The Palisades Stewardship Education Centre is 48 km from HI Athabasca Falls. This is a back-to-basics wilderness hostel - We now have 2 private rooms, 2 mixed dorms, no showers, and no flush toilets. That said, it's a great place. A large common lodge with fireplace and lounge, friendly and personable staff, and a great location. We have purified drinking water, full cooking facilities, refrigerator, stoves and electricity. HI Athabasca is well-suited for groups. It is the largest of the four wilderness hostels in Jasper National Park. Located next to the powerful Athabasca Falls, awesome views, spectacular hiking and a wonderful off-the-beaten path experience. The Fryatt Valley and Athabasca Pass are easily accessed from the hostel offering cross-country skiing, hiking and mountain biking opportunities. Horseshoe and Leech Lake are also nearby for excellent swimming. CHECK IN - 5PM TO 10PM CHECK OUT - prior to 10AM (Late arrivals cannot be accommodated) Due to lack of direct/reliable communication Reservations must be made 48 hours in advance. Walk ins are welcome, call us for more information/availability.

Located 90 km north of Lake Louise in a wilderness setting, this hostel features a common kitchen. Snowshoes are provided for guest use. Ice climbing opportunities surround this property. Wooden furnishings and natural daylight are offered in all dormitory rooms at HI Rampart Creek Hostel. Shared bathroom facilities are provided. Linen is included. HI Rampart Creek Hostel provides no electricity to ensure a rustic experience. Guests can relax in the shared lounge or by the outdoor fire pit after a day’s hiking and wildlife viewing.
