Carriage of liquid, aerorsols, and gels on International flights
For security reasons, certain restrictions have been introduced to limit the amount of liquids, aerosols and gels (LAG) that guests may include in their cabin baggage on international flights.
- LAG items such as drinks, creams, perfumes, sprays, gels and toothpaste must be in containers that have a maximum capacity of 100 ml.
- All LAG containers should fit comfortably in a transparent re-sealable plastic bag.
- Each passenger is limited to only one transparent re-sealable plastic bag with a volume no greater than one litre and dimension no larger than 20 cm x 20 cm.
The following items are allowed to be included in cabin baggage
- medicines - Quantities that are essential for your trip. Eg. Diabetic Kit.
- Baby food - Pastes and liquids that are required for your trip.
- Non liquid cosmetics - Solid Deodorants, lipstick, powder foundation.
- Fresh/Frozen seafood or meat - Must be packed properly.
Checked baggage can be pre-booked at a discounted rate online or standard rate
at the airport check-in counters.

Checking in bags
All baggage must be checked-in at the airport:

prior to departure time for AirAsia domestic flights (except flights departing klia2)
at least 1 hr
prior to departure time for AirAsia international flights, AirAsia X and all flights departing from klia2

Your bags are automatically tagged to your final destination with AirAsia FLY-THRU (connecting flights) service.
Guests checking in baggage which exceeds the pre-booked allowance will be charged on a per kg basis based on our fee schedule.Alternatively, guests may also purchase 15kg baggage for both domestic and international flights.
Smaller musical items such as a guitar, cello, violin or viola which exceed our cabin baggage dimensions provided it is within 75kg (dimensions: H 103cm x W 41cm x D 41cm) may be carried in the cabin if a seat for it has been reserved and the appropriate fare paid. There is no baggage allowance associated with the purchase of an extra seat.

A. Sports equipment we accept
he following items will be charged with a sports equipment fee. All other sports equipment will be under the checked baggage allowance. The sporting equipment fee can be either pre-booked at a discounted rate online or at a standard rate at the airport check-in counters.

Note: High intensity diving lamps and normal portable diving lamps i.e. torch lights , which contains rechargeable lead acid batteries, spillable or non-spillable will not be accepted on board our aircraft as check-in nor as hand baggage as it falls under Dangerous Goods Regulation.
B. Sports equipment we accept as checked baggage
The following equipment are accepted as part of your check-in baggage.

Sports equipment we do not accept
Due to large sizes and handling complexities, certain sporting equipment may not be able to go through airport baggage systems or fit in the aircraft hold and thus the following equipment will not be accepted for carriage:
- Hang gliders
- Kayaks, canoes and oars
- Pole vaults
- Any number of pieces is allowed with a combined weight not exceeding pre-book/airport weight.
- Excess baggage fee applies to every extra kg.
If you have a checked baggage missing, please approach one of our friendly guest service officers immediately.
You will need to provide your baggage tag that was given to you at the time of check-in to enable us to track your baggage through our Baggage Tracing System. You will be given a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) number to check the status of your baggage online and get updated regularly during the tracing period.
Your baggage will be declared missing after a period of 7 days for Domestic travel, and 14 days for International travel, from the date of the PIR. In this situation, you will need to prepare the following documents:
1. Copy of guest passport / ID 2. Copy of guest bank book / statement 3. SWIFT/BCB/IBN code (for international transaction) 4. An authorization letter for 3rd party account (if necessary) 5. Copy of 3rd party passport / ID (if necessary)
Guests will be contacted by our Central Baggage Tracing Office staff for further action.

Please note that we do not accept any responsibility for personal belongings misplaced or lost on board the aircraft or in the airport terminal. All items carried by you are solely at your own risk. Any items found on board will be forwarded to the lost property offices at the respective airports. Any items found at the airport terminal will be handed over to the airport authorities.
If your baggage has been delayed, we will make the necessary arrangements to deliver it to your local address provided in the PIR form as and when it arrives. Arrangements will also be made to assist you should items of baggage arrive damaged.
If you wish to file a claim or an action regarding delay of checked baggage, you must notify us within twenty-one (21) days from the date the baggage has been placed at your disposal.
If your baggage is damaged, you should immediately approach one of our friendly guest service officers. Details of the damage to your baggage will be recorded and you will be offered immediate assistance, if necessary. Please note that damage to accessories and wear and tear may not be covered by us.
If your bag is damaged as a result of over-packing or unsuitable packaging, our liability will be reduced.
If you wish to file a claim or an action regarding damage to checked baggage after you've left the airport, you must notify us as soon as you discover the damage, and at the latest within 7 (seven) days of receipt of the baggage.
AirAsia will relocate operations at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta to Terminals 2E for international flights and 2F for domestic flights, effective 12 August 2016 (03.00 hrs local time, GMT +7) due to renovation works at the old Terminal 3. AirAsia's domestic and international flight schedules will not be affected by the move.
AirAsia's check-in and baggage drop counters for all international and domestic flights will be located at counters 73-81 in the departure area of Terminal 2F.
AirAsia guests departing from Terminals 2E and 2F are advised to arrive 2 hours before the scheduled time of departure. For a seamless travel experience, AirAsia recommends that guests check-in online, as well as print their boarding pass before departing for the airport.
Counter check-in is available for all AirAsia flights. Just go to the airport with your travel documents, check-in at our counters and obtain your boarding pass.

AirAsia Flight Schedule
AirAsia was originally owned by DRB-HICOM owned by the Government of Malaysia, but the airline has a heavy burden and eventually purchased by former Time Warner Executive, Tony Fernandes, the symbolic price of 1 Euro on December 2, 2001. Tony has turnaround and AirAsia recorded a profit in 2002 with a varety of new routes and promotional prices as low as RM 10 to compete with Malaysia Airlines.
In 2003, opened a second base at Senai Airport, Johor Bahru near Singapore and AirAsia International flights to Thailand. Since then, opened Thai AirAsia and perform the various additions to routes such as Singapore and Indonesia. Flights to Macau started in June 2004 while flying to Manila and Xiamen began in April 2005. Another route is to be opened to Vietnam, Cambodia, The Philippines, and Laos.
Besides Thai AirAsia, in Indonesia there are also companies that AirAsia Indoneisa (previously named AW AIR) which flew from Jakarta to Yogyakarta, Denpasar for local purposes, and from Surabaya to Medan for other domestic routes, besides Indonesia flight carried out throught the big cities such as Medan, Padang, Pekanbaru, Palembang, Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Solo, Balikpapan, and Makassar.
On Thursday (17/11/2011) AirAsia terminal at Soekarno Hatta, Indonesia officialy moved from terminal 2 to terminal 3, where domestic and international flights services. Now, AirAsia Indonesia serves 26 routes with 52 flgihts that connect through five connecting airports, like Cengkareng (Jakarta), Denpasar, Surabaya, and Medan.
