The milestone that has been reached by the airline is In 1955, PIA inaugurated its first international route, Karachi-London Heathrow Airport via Cairo and Rome,In 1957–1958, PIA carried 208,000 passengers,From 20 June 1960 onwards, the airlines operated its Boeing 707 fleets,On 5 May 1961, the airline introduced its first trans-Atlantic route Karachi-New York via London,In 1973, PIA acquired McDonnell Douglas DC-10s to replace its remaining Boeing 707-300s,In June 1985, PIA became the first Asian airline to operate the Boeing 737-300,In June 1991, the airline introduced a new livery for the Airbus A310-300.
